To our valued customers,
We share your concern for the safety of your staff and customers.
To put your mind at ease, here's an excerpt from Food and Agriculture
Organization (FAO) and World Health Organization (WHO) jointly
made statement:
No Bird Flu Risk For
Consumers From Cooked Poultry And Eggs
"Chicken and other poultry are
safe to eat if cooked at above 70°C. To date, there is no
epidemiological evidence that people have become infected after
eating contaminated poultry meat that has been properly cooked."
Source: FAO and WHO joint statement in Geneva on 5th December
2005 published at http://www.who.int/mediacentre
Accordingly, all Prima products are fully cooked at above 70°C.
We also practice good hygiene during preparation and cooking
of poultry to further contribute to the safety of cooked poultry
products. In fact, this part of our compliance to the HACCP
system.
The risk of infection applies to those who are in direct contact
with infected live or dead poultry and raw meat. Please refer
to

for tips that can help you avoid avian influenza.
We have contacted the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS)
to confirm the matter. For the latest development on the virus,
please access the DVS link through our website at http://www.primahalal.com
or go directly to http://agrolink.moa.my/jph/epv/hpai.htm
Please feel free to contact us if you have further inquiries.
Yours sincerely
